Vintage Inspirations!

Day 2 of my blog, and 11 days off to craft and add pictures!  This is one of my favorite cards I have made and was a recent random make!   Had a spare half hour and got out some new stamps I had treated myself to!   All inks are from a set of 24 Dew Drops that I bought a few years ago and are still going strong despite almost daily use...might have to replace the black soon tho!  


For the topper  I started off with a scrap of  pink Tim Holtz card from the  Idea-ology lost & found 12 x 12 stash.   The stamps are Tim Holtz The Journey & Regal Flourish  sets.


First I stamped all the artwork, the corner stamp was done in silver with clear embossing powder, then the wings and scrolls with crimson copper ink.  The Journey and Lion stamp were used with galaxy gold and gold embossing powder.  Next stamped the creativity and crown stamp in white then over stamped with crimson copper. This is so easy to do with clear stamps and I love this look.  Finished with crimson copper and white all around the edges and mounted on gold mirri card with a thin border.


Used yet more Tim Holtz with the vintage die for the middle borders using the matching paper to the background  (from a my minds eye set) and mounted them either side of  a piece of brown card then added a ribbon and button from my stash!


When my PC died for a month I used my silhouette on a friends mac and different images appeared!  Ended up cutting a few pages of the lovely butterfly's just on white card so I could colour them all to match my projects!  Finally I used the butterfly stamp from Urban Chic Tim Holtz set on them  in white and embossed with white powder, then inked over with the Crimson copper.   Stuck it all together with foam tape and voila!  


Back with a new card tomorrow!

    Lovely card Kay, great colours. I see you have a silhouette, have you had it long? I bought a secondhand one last week but haven't tried it yet! Any tips?

    Thanks, yes have had mine for a few years. Main tip is make sure the paper or card is stuck down enough. If the matt get's less tacky use a reposionable spray and use it on the card not the matt. Use a good spray for heavier cardstock and a light one for lighter paper or it's hard to unstick! Much cheaper than replacing the matt all the time! Will upload some cards I made using the silhouette over the weekend. Have fun creating, you'll love it x
    PS mine is v. noisy! Don't be scared if your's is as well. It is quite common!
